Lanzarote, 4-13 July 2012
Our 2012 Summer holiday was in Lanzarote, Spain, one of the Canary Islands, at the West of the Sahara desert. We stayed in Playa Blanca at the South of the island, in a holiday resort that had apartments in semi-detached houses, and several swimming pools. We rented a car the whole stay and it was convenient. Lanzarote is a beautiful island, very arid but with interesting vegetation, even some agriculture (vineyards). The landscapes were stunning, from the volcanoes to the beaches.
Muelle de Los Mármoles Telamon shipwreck
Initially called Temple Hall in 1954 when it was built and then Pantelis in 1969 when it was sold, it changed hands again in 1977 and was renamed Telamon. A leak forced Telamon to run aground in Arrecife, on the 31st October 1981.
