A weekend in Bologna, Italy.

See also the flickr set (26 photos).

"Vai piu avanti" (go further) (black and white version)

Avanti

More arcades.

Arcades

Basilica di Santo Stefano under a blue sky and in the sun.

Basilica

An iron happy duck on a brick wall. (Really I have no idea what it is).

Duck

Fontana del Nettuno on Piazza Nettuno

Nettuno

Via Rizzoli in the city centre with torre degli Asinelli and torre Garisenda in the background. City life in the middle-ground, a woman in a red dress crossing the street, a vespa on the left, people.

Via Rizzoli

A mosaic of two of the Three Graces sculpture by Antonia Canova. This was on a wall in a cafe.

Graces

Grafitti "bologna nel cuore"

nel cuore

The famous fishtank at Neaera. From that angle, it looks like they're looking at the fishtank. The TV is hidden above it and it's the World Cup they're really engrossed in.

neaera

This is an iron map of Bologna, in the centre of a gate. Behind me is the entrance of the Hotel Holiday where I had stayed the night before.

Bologna map

Pink and orange and green. That was behind a large church. It was Sunday, around noon, and I could hear the choir from within the church. So I sat for a few minutes and listened.

Colours

More arcades. This time in a bulbous mirror.

Arcades

At CDG, soccer fans in front of TV. Brasil was playing.

Soccer fans

A fine mist of water lingered there for a short while after this aircraft took off.

Taking off

One is taking off and others are in the pipe.

Taking off

Two aircrafts are queueing to take off

On deck

Clouds in front of the sun.

Clouds

Behind the mist is the aircraft that is taking off. We're next.

Taking off

I love sunbeams!

A sundog that looks like an eye viewed from the side.
